The HR100 ranking by HRO Today has identified a clear connection between HR excellence and business success, with companies at the top of the list showing markedly better financial performance than those at the bottom. According to the ranking, which assesses HR departments across eight key areas, the median EBITDA per employee for the top 25 companies stands at $152,000, compared to $99,626 for the bottom 25, a difference of 41.6%.
Additionally, the average two-year revenue growth for the highest-ranked companies was 12.0%, versus 9.0% for those ranked lower, a 28.6% gap that underscores the impact of strategic HR practices on business growth. This disparity is especially notable given that Fortune 500 companies saw only a 6% revenue increase from 2024 to 2025, half the rate achieved by the top HR100 performers.
The HR100 ranking's findings are based on an extensive analysis of nearly 1,000 companies, drawing on data from 55 benchmarking and ranking programs to ensure a comprehensive assessment of both external recognition and internal HR achievements.
