UGI Utilities is set to begin system upgrades in Bethlehem on July 1, focusing on replacing a gas main to ensure the continued safety and reliability of its service. The project will impact East North Street between Pine Street and Center Street, as well as Center Street between East North Street and East Raspberry Street. Construction hours are scheduled from 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, with parking restrictions in place during these times.
The upgrades may lead to temporary interruptions in natural gas service, requiring UGI to access properties for equipment inspection and relighting. The underground work is expected to be completed by the end of July, although adverse weather or working conditions could delay the timeline. Following the underground work, final paving and restoration will commence.
This project also provides an opportunity for homes and businesses along the affected route to convert to natural gas. UGI is urging interested parties to seek further information. For more details, visit https://www.ugi.com.
