HNO International, Inc., alongside Q3 Power and Enapter, has initiated a groundbreaking project to repurpose toxic fracking wastewater into clean hydrogen, addressing both environmental pollution and the demand for green energy. This collaboration utilizes Q3 Power's thermal distillation technology to purify the wastewater, which is then converted into hydrogen by Enapter's electrolyzers, with HNO International overseeing the production and distribution. The process has the potential to produce up to 1,500 kg of hydrogen daily, equating to approximately $5 million in annual sales.
Traditionally, fracking wastewater, contaminated with hazardous chemicals, has been disposed of in deep injection wells, posing significant risks to groundwater quality. This innovative approach not only mitigates these environmental hazards but also contributes to the circular economy by transforming waste into a valuable energy resource. Don Owens, Chairman and CEO of HNO International, emphasized the project's potential, stating, "From pollution to power—that’s the story we’re telling." This initiative not only demonstrates the feasibility of converting industrial waste into clean energy but also establishes a model for future environmental and energy solutions globally.
