UGI Utilities has initiated a comprehensive upgrade of its gas system in Union Township, including parts of Winfield, starting June 23, aimed at improving service safety and reliability. The project, expected to finish by early September, includes gas main replacements and offers select homes and businesses along the route the option to convert to natural gas.
Affected areas include Trutt Road between County Line Road and Felmey Road, Woodsedge Drive from Trutt Road to its cul-de-sac, and Felmey Road from Trutt Road to Amish Road. Service lines on Felmey Road, Park Road, Shirley Drive, and Westbranch Highway will also be replaced. Construction will occur weekdays from 7am to 5pm, leading to possible road closures, detours, and traffic delays, with parking restrictions in effect during work hours.
Temporary natural gas service interruptions may occur, requiring UGI access to properties for equipment checks and relighting. The project's progress depends on weather and working conditions, with final paving and restoration planned after underground work completion. UGI Utilities, serving more than 760,000 customers, is committed to infrastructure upgrades to meet increasing demands for dependable energy services.
