UGI Utilities, Inc. has announced a significant infrastructure upgrade with a natural gas main replacement project in Quakertown, scheduled to start on August 1, 2025. This project highlights UGI's commitment to maintaining the safety and reliability of its natural gas distribution system. The work, focusing on Rich Hill Road between Whaland Road and Masi Drive, is expected to be completed by mid-September, though the timeline may adjust based on weather and operational conditions.
Residents and businesses in the area should prepare for potential disruptions, including road closures, detours, and parking limitations, as construction will take place on weekdays from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Additionally, temporary interruptions to natural gas service are anticipated, requiring UGI personnel to access properties for necessary inspections and service relighting. Following the underground work, final paving and restoration efforts will commence to restore the area.
This initiative also offers an opportunity for eligible properties along the project route to convert to natural gas service. UGI Utilities, Inc. is available to provide further information on conversion options. For more details on the project and UGI's services, visit https://www.ugi.com.
