Nicola Mining Inc. has announced the appointment of Vicente García as Senior Geologist, a move that significantly bolsters the company's copper exploration efforts. With over seven years of experience in diverse geological systems, García's expertise is expected to be instrumental in Nicola Mining's 2025 exploration initiatives, especially at the New Craigmont copper project. CEO Peter Espig emphasized the strategic value of García's addition to the team, reflecting the company's dedication to progressing its copper exploration projects. García will collaborate with VP of Exploration Will Whitty to evaluate potential targets at the Treasure Mountain Silver Mine, further enhancing Nicola Mining's standing in the mining industry.
The New Craigmont Project, a high-grade copper property entirely owned by Nicola Mining, spans 10,913 hectares and is strategically located next to Highland Valley Copper, the largest copper mine in Canada. García's international experience, including positions at Anglo American and Dahrouge Geological Consulting, is anticipated to drive significant progress in Nicola Mining's exploration activities. Beyond copper, Nicola Mining operates a fully permitted mill and tailings facility near Merritt, British Columbia, capable of processing gold and silver mill feed. The company's broad portfolio and strategic personnel acquisitions, such as García, highlight its goal to emerge as a frontrunner in the mining sector, addressing the worldwide need for copper and other valuable metals.
