Alberta Distillers Limited has announced the launch of the Alberta Premium Golden Rye 9 Year Old, a new expression that highlights the brand's unwavering commitment to quality and innovation within the Canadian whisky industry. This premium offering, made from 100 per cent Canadian rye grain and aged for nine years, boasts a complex flavor profile that pays homage to the meticulous craftsmanship and tradition inherent in Canadian whisky-making.
The Alberta Premium Golden Rye 9 Year Old sets itself apart through its unique aging process, which involves the use of three different barrel styles: new white oak, ex-bourbon, and ex-Canadian whisky casks. This innovative approach enhances the whisky's richness, spice, and depth, resulting in an exceptionally smooth finish. At 45 per cent ABV, the whisky features aromas of caramel, subtle leather, and a hint of coconut, leading to a palate rich with raisin and molasses, and a finish that perfectly balances sweetness with the signature spice of rye.
Deepti Gurkar, Senior Director – National Marketing Canada and Global Canadian Brands at Suntory Global Spirits, commented on the significance of the launch, stating, Alberta Premium Golden Rye 9 Year Old represents the pinnacle of Canadian craftsmanship, offering a complex, layered whisky experience. This release not only celebrates the bold flavors and rich heritage of Canadian rye whisky but also underscores the innovation that defines the category.
Set to be available across Canada starting in July, with a suggested retail price of $37.95 per 750ml bottle, the Alberta Premium Golden Rye 9 Year Old is expected to captivate both whisky aficionados and those new to the world of Canadian rye whisky. This launch not only solidifies Alberta Distillers Limited's reputation for producing exceptional spirits but also plays a pivotal role in elevating the global appreciation for Canadian whisky.
