Mullen Automotive, a Southern California-based electric vehicle manufacturer, has recently secured a substantial order for its Mullen THREE electric trucks from Cashflow on Wheels, a logistics company that serves major clients such as FedEx and Amazon. This order, valued at approximately $1.4 million, includes 20 all-electric Class 3 trucks and will be delivered through Pritchard Automotive. The decision by Cashflow on Wheels to transition to electric vehicles was motivated by the significant cost savings observed during testing, with over $500 saved per route per week.
This development occurs as Mullen Automotive is scaling up its commercial electric vehicle production. The company commenced commercial vehicle production at its Tunica, Mississippi facility in August 2023 and, the following month, received IRS approval for federal EV tax credits on its commercial vehicles. Both the Mullen ONE cargo van and Mullen THREE truck have achieved California Air Resource Board (CARB) and EPA certification for sale in the United States. Furthermore, the Mullen THREE truck has been granted additional CARB-issued HVIP approval, offering up to a $45,000 cash voucher at the time of purchase.
Mullen Automotive has also broadened its commercial dealer network to include seven dealers, such as Pritchard EV, National Auto Fleet Group, and Ziegler Truck Group, ensuring sales and service coverage across crucial U.S. markets. The company's Tunica manufacturing center's recent Foreign Trade Zone status approval provides further advantages, including duty deferment and potential elimination on exported vehicles, strengthening its position in the competitive electric vehicle market.
