New Study Reveals Significant Gold Potential in British Columbia's Golden Triangle

A recent geological study conducted by the Colorado School of Mines has brought to light the significant gold potential at the Surebet discovery within the Golddigger Property, located in British Columbia's Golden Triangle. The research highlights two distinct high-grade gold environments: shear-hosted quartz-sulfide veins and gold-bearing felsic to intermediate dykes, both showing widespread visible gold that becomes more abundant and coarser with depth, indicating a promising mineralization potential.

The study's mineralization age analysis, dating between 50.7 and 52.0 million years, confirms a common Eocene-age magmatic origin. This finding is supported by the observation of melt droplet inclusions and fluid textures, which revealed a previously unrecognized phase separation process in CO₂-rich hydrothermal fluids. These insights provide a new understanding of the geological processes at play in the region.

Drill data from 243 holes further substantiates the scale of the gold system, with intercepts reaching as high as 34.52 g/t AuEq over 39 meters. Such results not only challenge the previous geological assumptions that focused on Jurassic-era mineral targets but also underscore the potential of Reduced Intrusion-Related Gold (RIRG) systems. The research offers a compelling geological model for future exploration efforts, marking a significant step forward in understanding the area's geological complexity.
