The social shopping platform Claim has significantly broadened its reach, now offering its innovative services in 10 major U.S. cities. This expansion marks a pivotal shift from its original college campus-based model to a more inclusive approach, welcoming all residents and visitors in key urban areas including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. The platform's unique proposition allows users to earn cash back, referred to as 'Claims', when they patronize partner businesses such as Blank Street Coffee, Gong cha, and Chip City.
CEO and co-founder Sam Obletz shed light on the app's distinctive approach to customer acquisition, which diverges from traditional digital advertising by channeling marketing budgets directly to consumers. This strategy not only fosters a connection between brands and potential customers but also incentivizes users financially to explore new dining and shopping experiences. The platform's AI-powered algorithm is designed to encourage repeat engagement by rewarding users for their patronage of new establishments.
Further enhancing its growth strategy, Claim has introduced a referral program that rewards users with $10 in Claims for every friend they invite to the platform. This initiative aims to organically expand the user base while delivering real value to both consumers and businesses. Luke deWilde, Head of Marketing, highlighted that existing users in the core cities will continue to enjoy the platform's benefits without any changes, with future offerings tailored to these urban markets. Claim's model represents a forward-thinking approach to engaging Gen Z and young professionals with local businesses through a rewards-based ecosystem, setting a new standard for social shopping platforms.
