Christine Hayek has been named the new chief operating officer of Consensus Health, a physician-led medical group in New Jersey, bringing over 25 years of healthcare operational experience to the role. Her appointment is significant as it underscores the organization's commitment to strengthening its network of 172 independent providers through enhanced operational leadership. Hayek's previous role as vice president of operations and human resources at Consensus Health, where she managed 57 physician practices, positions her uniquely to drive the group's strategic objectives forward.
With a career that spans nearly two decades at AtlantiCare Health System, Hayek has a proven track record of leading strategic initiatives, including the redesign of employee health programs and the integration of over 30 physician practices. Her expertise in improving practice performance and patient experiences is expected to be invaluable in her new role. Michael Lovett, CEO of Consensus Health, highlighted Hayek's leadership qualities and her ability to foster successful provider partnerships as key factors in her promotion.
Before joining Consensus Health, Hayek held several leadership positions at AtlantiCare, including executive director of physician practice operations and corporate director of population health transformation. Her educational background, with a bachelor's degree in business management from Slippery Rock University and an MBA from Stockton University, further equips her with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of healthcare operations.
Hayek's appointment comes at a time when Consensus Health is expanding its presence across New Jersey, currently offering medical care in 18 counties through 56 practices and 69 locations. Her strategic approach and deep operational expertise are anticipated to play a pivotal role in the continued growth and success of the physician-owned medical group.
