Green Lantern Solar has announced the appointment of Brendan Boland as its new Director of Development, a move aimed at accelerating the company's expansion in the renewable energy sector. Boland, with nearly five years of experience in solar project origination and development, will focus on community solar projects, small-scale utility solar initiatives, and commercial and industrial solar and battery storage projects, particularly in New York, the Midwest, and other emerging markets.
David Carpenter, Vice President of Development at Green Lantern Solar, praised Boland's analytical skills and his quick adaptation to the company's processes. Boland's background includes an internship at the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), which ignited his passion for clean energy. A graduate of the University at Albany with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Boland's scientific expertise is expected to contribute significantly to the company's development efforts.
Since its establishment in 2011, Green Lantern Solar has completed over 125 projects across various sectors, emphasizing the revitalization of low-value sites for renewable energy purposes. The company's strategy involves transforming brownfields, landfills, and other challenging sites into productive solar energy projects, aligning with its mission to expand clean energy access.
Boland's appointment is timely, as the demand for renewable energy solutions surges. His role will be pivotal in Green Lantern Solar's strategy to meet this demand, especially in community solar projects that aim to make renewable energy more accessible. This development reflects the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the solar energy sector, contributing to the broader transition towards clean energy in the United States.
