The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have unveiled plans for the 9th edition of the Knowledge Summit, set to take place on November 18-19, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Center. With the theme 'Future Skills and AI Economy,' the summit is poised to explore the challenges and opportunities in fostering a sustainable knowledge-based economy. His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the MBRF, highlighted the summit's contribution to positioning Dubai as a beacon of innovation and knowledge on the global stage.
A pivotal feature of this year's summit will be the launch of the 'Global Knowledge Index 2024,' a tool aimed at steering future sustainable development strategies across various knowledge domains. The summit will also mark a historic moment with the hosting of the 3rd UNESCO World OER Congress in the Arab World for the first time, attracting around 500 ministers and decision-makers from key sectors. The event will further celebrate knowledge advancement through the 'Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award' and feature insightful discussions by Coursera on future skills and AI.
With an ambitious agenda that includes over 747 interactive sessions and the participation of 1765 speakers, the summit is expected to draw more than 81,000 attendees. This gathering underscores the critical role of the Knowledge Summit in addressing the implications of rapid technological changes and the shift towards knowledge-based economies. The focus on future skills and the AI economy at the summit is particularly timely, offering a platform for international collaboration that could influence global policy and industry trends.
The summit's alignment with the goals of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its emphasis on preparing workforces for future challenges underscore its relevance. The discussions and outcomes from the event are anticipated to have a profound impact on educational systems, workforce development, and economic policies worldwide, making it a key event for stakeholders across various sectors.
