This project introduces modern two- and three-bedroom apartments to a highly sought-after area, featuring upgraded kitchens, bathrooms, and in-unit washer and dryers, alongside high-end finishes and stunning views of the Downtown Los Angeles skyline.
The renovation was led by Victoria Vu, a renowned designer and Managing Partner of VF Developments, who emphasized the property's modern living spaces and the company's goal of enhancing communities. The property, with a Walk Score of 87 out of 100, offers residents a walkable location close to downtown Los Angeles and various amenities, making it an attractive option for urban living.
James Kemple, the general contractor for VF Developments, highlighted the local impact of the project, noting that the renovation team consisted entirely of locally based minority vendors, employees, and contractors. This approach not only created jobs in the Chinatown area but also contributed to the community's improvement and the provision of more affordable housing.
The project included exterior and interior upgrades, such as a new wood exterior façade, fresh paint, landscaping, and restored interior finishes. Plans are also underway to build an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) in the parking area to offer additional affordable housing options. The property's six spacious units have already generated significant interest since pre-leasing began.
This renovation is part of VF Developments' broader portfolio, which includes over $69 million in multifamily properties acquired since 2015, focusing on providing Class A building design finishes at accessible rents in gentrifying areas of Los Angeles and Orange County. The completion of 920 Everett Street marks a notable contribution to the local housing market, addressing the city's ongoing housing challenges through thoughtful renovation and community-focused development.
