Oriole Resources PLC is significantly increasing its exploration activities at the Bibemi orogenic gold project located in Cameroon. This initiative is being undertaken in collaboration with BCM International, focusing on an ambitious drilling program designed to verify several new geophysical targets. The program also aims to potentially enhance the current mineral resource estimate (MRE), as stated by the company.
Tim Livesey, CEO of Oriole Resources, highlighted that the recent analysis of geophysical data has identified several new and promising exploration targets. These targets are separate from the areas that were included in the MRE upgrade announced in January. 'We're looking at brand-new areas for exploration,' Livesey remarked, indicating the fresh opportunities this presents for the project.
The drilling strategy for 2024 is set to concentrate on delineating resources at shallow depths and expanding the MRE. Livesey further disclosed that the company plans to drill up to five new targets, showcasing the project's considerable potential for growth. Moreover, exploration efforts at the Mbe target are advancing, with results expected to be released shortly.
Aside from the Bibemi project, Oriole Resources is also preparing to accelerate exploration on its other licenses in Cameroon. This signals a highly active period ahead, supported by an expanding local team. Livesey shared his optimism for achieving significant resource confirmation by 2025, alongside maintaining a vigorous exploration schedule across their portfolio. The company's dedication to broadening its presence in the region is clear, as it leverages the encouraging geophysical data and exploration prospects available.
