Critical Infrastructure Technologies Ltd. has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Babcock International Group to co-develop and build rapidly deployable platforms for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The agreement addresses the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence's request for 50 Nexus 20 platforms that integrate 5G communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, and counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems capabilities. This partnership represents a significant advancement in mobile defense technology that can support mission-critical operations in challenging environments.
The containerized solution, transportable by truck, provides 5G communications, counter-UAS, and ISR capability while featuring self-unloading functionality and adaptability to uneven terrain. The platform deploys a 20-meter cyclone-rated tower, making it suitable for various operational scenarios. This technology addresses the growing need for rapid deployment capabilities in modern conflict zones, where communication infrastructure and surveillance systems are critical for military effectiveness and force protection.
Mark Goldsack, Babcock's International Director, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, stating the companies can deliver rapidly deployable communications and surveillance capabilities while expanding their Eastern Europe footprint with a dedicated assembly hub. The MOU includes plans to explore developing a Nexus 20 assembly hub in Eastern Europe and pursuing additional opportunities across NATO's Eastern Flank. This expansion represents a strategic move to position both companies as key suppliers for NATO's eastern defense requirements.
Brenton Scott, CEO of CiTech, highlighted how the partnership with Babcock International unlocks a pathway for rapid scaling of the Nexus 20 technology across Ukraine and Eastern Europe. He characterized the agreement as the beginning of a regional expansion that positions CiTech's Nexus 20 as a benchmark capability for NATO's eastern defense requirements.
