The 45th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 28th electronicAsia concluded with approximately 60,000 buyers from 142 countries and regions participating in the four-day events at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The fairs, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and MMI Asia Pte Ltd, served as critical platforms for global electronics sourcing and networking, with increased buyer participation from Spain, Japan, Brazil, and Australia compared to previous years.
Industry surveys conducted during the events revealed substantial technological transformation underway, with 44% of respondents actively exploring or integrating generative AI technology into their operations. The most common applications included product design and development (60%), customer service and support (40%), and marketing and advertising (35%). This technological shift aligns with Hong Kong's broader strategic direction, as recently highlighted in the Policy Address promoting artificial intelligence as a core industry for the city's development.
Market optimism was particularly strong for several emerging regions, with respondents identifying the Middle East (77%), Korea (70%), India (69%), and ASEAN countries (69%) as having promising growth prospects for electronics products over the next two years. Overall, 51% of surveyed industry professionals expect sales increases in the coming 12 to 24 months, indicating sustained confidence in sector recovery and expansion.
The fairs featured more than 3,200 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, with the HKTDC organizing 120 buyer delegations from 61 countries. Major global corporations including Mondial from Brazil, Reichelt Elektronik GmbH from Germany, and Dewalt Mobile Solutions from the United States participated, underscoring Hong Kong's position as an international convention and exhibition hub.
