SouthernMED Pediatrics has acquired Tri-County Pediatrics, expanding pediatric healthcare access in northern South Carolina's Tri-County region effective December 3, 2025. The acquisition integrates two established offices in Rock Hill and York into SouthernMED's growing statewide network, strengthening care availability in an area considered part of the broader Charlotte metropolitan community. Tri-County Pediatrics, founded in 2001 by Dr. Gaurang Shah, brings a strong reputation for quality children's healthcare and recognition as a certified Patient-Centered Medical Home.
Dr. Shah, recipient of the 2016 Rural Health Physician of the Year Award, will continue leading patient care at both locations, ensuring continuity for families who have trusted the practice for more than two decades. Both offices will maintain current operating hours, including Saturday morning availability at the Rock Hill location. The integration creates operational density alongside SouthernMED's existing Fort Mill office and recently acquired Rock Hill location previously operating as Sunshine Pediatrics.
