SBF AG Unveils Two Product Innovations to Accelerate Growth in Sensor Technology and Electromechanics

SBF AG, a listed specialist in rolling stock, lighting, electromechanics, and sensor technology, has announced two product innovations in its 'Sensor Technology and Electromechanics' segment. The company is commercializing an enhanced Automatic Label Feeder (ALF) and a new automatic optical inspection system called INSPECT, both developed in-house and now available to industrial customers with similar requirements.

These products address the megatrends of automation and digitalization, offering solutions that improve efficiency and quality in manufacturing processes. According to Robert Stocklinger, Member of the Management Board of SBF AG, the innovations are part of the company's strategy to combine technological expertise with direct customer benefit, unlocking additional earnings potential. 'We are now even better positioned for the future with these product developments. INSPECT takes quality assurance in electronics manufacturing to a new level of automation. Solutions with high customer value and clear efficiency potential are exactly the kind of innovation with which the SBF Group aims to grow,' he said.

The Automatic Label Feeder has been enhanced to support the labeling of glass vials, opening up new target industries beyond electronics manufacturing, such as pharmaceuticals, laboratory diagnostics, and fine chemicals. Originally developed for in-house use in electronics production, ALF has become a standalone product line due to strong customer demand. Its platform architecture allows flexible adaptation to different production processes, providing a foundation for further growth.

INSPECT is an optical inspection system that automates quality control of electronic assemblies after SMD assembly. It uses a high-resolution camera to capture the assembled printed circuit board, with software that identifies fiducial marks, component positions, and orientations, reads standard barcode and 2D code formats, and automatically documents inspection results. The system can be set up in minutes, retains calibration and operating data during updates, and offers improved stability and robustness in continuous operation, even during hardware failures.

These innovations exemplify SBF's development approach: technologies created to optimize its own manufacturing processes are brought to market maturity, creating additional sales and growth potential. They strengthen the company's product portfolio, which is geared toward the needs of industrial customers, and reinforce the Group's technological expertise in automation and digitalization. SBF benefits from these innovations across all of its business segments.

The SBF Group is known for its high-quality and forward-looking products and services, benefiting from megatrends such as mobility, climate protection, automation, and digitalization. The company's business segments include rolling stock, public and industrial lighting, and sensor technology and electromechanics. For more information, visit https://www.sbf-ag.com.
