UGI Utilities, Inc. is launching a natural gas main replacement project along Manheim Pike in Lancaster County, starting July 28, 2025, aimed at improving service safety and reliability. The project, expected to finish by mid-September, will also allow certain homes and businesses along the route to transition to natural gas.
The construction will impact Manheim Pike between Abraso Street and Dexter Avenue, and Dexter Avenue between Manheim Avenue and Manheim Pike. Initial work hours are from 6:00pm to 6:00am, Monday through Friday, shifting to daytime hours (7:00am to 3:00pm) beginning August 18. Residents and commuters should anticipate possible road closures, detours, traffic delays, and parking restrictions. Gas service interruptions are also expected, requiring UGI to access properties for equipment checks and relighting.
Weather and working conditions may affect the project's schedule. After completing the underground work, final paving and restoration will occur at a later date. For more information on UGI Utilities, Inc., visit https://www.ugi.com.
