Mullen Automotive Inc. has taken a significant step forward in promoting urban sustainability with the delivery of its all-electric Bollinger B4 truck to the Lower East Side Ecology Center in New York City. This Class 4 electric vehicle, funded by the NYC Council, is equipped with a 158-kWh battery and boasts an 185-mile range, making it an ideal choice for supporting the center's composting and environmental programs. The vehicle's 16-foot dry box and power lift gate enhance its utility for ecological and municipal operations, marking a milestone as the center's first electric vehicle.
The introduction of the Bollinger B4 into New York City's environmental services underscores Mullen Automotive's commitment to advancing electric vehicle technology for urban sustainability. With production facilities in Tunica, Mississippi, and Mishawaka, Indiana, the company has been making notable progress in the electric vehicle sector. Since commencing commercial vehicle production in August 2023 and receiving IRS approval for federal EV tax credits by September 2023, Mullen Automotive has solidified its position in the market.
Mullen Automotive's current offerings include the Mullen ONE, a Class 1 EV cargo van, and the Mullen THREE, a Class 3 EV cab chassis truck, both of which are certified by the California Air Resource Board and the EPA. The company's expansion of its commercial dealer network to seven dealers, including Papé Kenworth, aims to provide extensive sales and service coverage across the United States. Additionally, the Foreign Trade Zone status of its Tunica manufacturing center offers advantages like duty deferment and the elimination of export duties, further enhancing Mullen Automotive's competitive edge in the electric vehicle market.
