Sonepar has announced a significant consolidation of its Midwest electrical distribution operations, merging Echo Electric, Springfield Electric, Richards Electric, Pepco, and Holt into a single brand, Echo Electric. This strategic move forms an organization with over $1.2 billion in annual sales, covering more than 500,000 square miles across nine Midwestern states. The consolidation aims to streamline operations and enhance service delivery in the electrical distribution sector.
Chris Scarbrough, formerly president of Springfield Electric, will lead the newly formed Echo Electric. With a collective 400 years of industry experience, the organization is poised to offer expanded inventory, specialized expertise, and improved service capabilities to its clientele, including electrical contracting, industrial, and utility markets. This merger not only strengthens Sonepar's presence in the Midwest but also provides associates with greater professional development and career growth opportunities.
Rob Taylor, President of Sonepar Americas, highlighted the strategic importance of this consolidation. By connecting distribution networks and resources, Echo Electric is set to deliver comprehensive electrical products, equipment, and services. These include specialized solutions like panel and switchboard assembly, control panel design, cable management, digital solutions, and industrial packages. The organization will operate in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Nebraska, and southern South Dakota.
This marks Sonepar's sixth U.S. operation to surpass $1 billion in annual sales, reflecting the company's dedication to strategic growth and market expansion in the electrical distribution industry. For more information, visit https://www.sonepar.com.
