The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has taken a significant step towards modernizing its operations by awarding Chevo Consulting, LLC a prime position on the $1.9 billion Enterprise Program Project Integration Services (EPPIS) Multiple Award Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). This 7-year contract, facilitated through the GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS), is set to enhance the IRS Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) by providing comprehensive program, project, and integration services. Chevo, among eleven awardees, will play a pivotal role in the IRS's efforts to achieve world-class tax administration through modernization.
Under the EPPIS contract, Chevo will deliver a wide range of services including Program/Project Management, Release and Organizational Change Management, Program and Technical Integration, Cybersecurity, Cloud Services, and Legislative implementation support. This contract represents Chevo's 30th prime contract with the IRS, reinforcing a partnership that dates back to the company's founding in 2002. Jeffrey I. Cooper, Vice President of Chevo, emphasized the contract's role in supporting the IRS's transformational efforts, aligning with the strategic objectives of the IRS Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Strategic Operating Plan.
Phil Sahady, president of Chevo, expressed pride in the company's selection for this contract, noting it as a continuation of their 22-year partnership with the IRS. The award underscores the IRS's commitment to upgrading its technological infrastructure and operational efficiency, crucial for its role in tax collection and law enforcement. Chevo's expertise in Strategic, Program, Portfolio, Project, Acquisition, and Financial Management positions it as a key player in supporting the IRS's complex modernization initiatives.
The EPPIS contract is expected to significantly impact the IRS's operations, offering more streamlined processes, enhanced technology use, and improved taxpayer services. The inclusion of cybersecurity and cloud services addresses the critical need for data protection and modern IT infrastructure in government agencies. As the IRS faces challenges like outdated systems and cybersecurity threats, the contributions of Chevo and other awardees under the EPPIS BPA will be vital. This initiative may also serve as a benchmark for other government agencies aiming to modernize their operations and enhance public service delivery.
