The Kerrville Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) has named Katie Milton Jordan as its Interim Executive Director, a move that highlights the organization's focus on advancing economic growth and community development. Jordan, stepping up from her role as Deputy Director, is poised to bring her extensive experience and successful track record to the forefront of Kerrville's economic strategies.
Her leadership comes at a pivotal moment for Kerrville, with Jordan already having made significant contributions, such as leading the initiative to bring Megaacrete's U.S. headquarters to the area through Project Mt Saddle, a project anticipated to generate numerous local jobs and stimulate the regional economy. Additionally, Jordan's organization of the Kerrville Texas Venture Fest has not only provided local entrepreneurs with access to vital resources and investors but also earned international recognition with a Bronze Award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in 2024.
Jordan's vision for economic development is comprehensive, addressing not just business growth but also community needs like childcare and support for working families. Her work in these areas, in alignment with the Kerrville 2050 Comprehensive Plan, was honored with a Gold Award from the IEDC in 2023. Before joining KEDC in October 2022, Jordan's career as a Certified Business Intermediary saw her assisting businesses with loan acquisitions and exit planning, alongside advising on the integration of AI for scaling operations.
As Interim Executive Director, Jordan is set to continue her collaborative approach, fostering partnerships among local businesses, civic leaders, and residents to ensure economic strategies meet community needs. Her leadership is expected to be instrumental in attracting investment, creating employment opportunities, and bolstering Kerrville's economic resilience, reinforcing KEDC's commitment to leveraging local expertise for the region's long-term prosperity.
