Comcast is enhancing its commitment to small businesses in Southeast Texas with the Comcast RISE program, a national initiative designed to provide financial and technological support to entrepreneurs. This year, the program will distribute $500,000 in grants, alongside comprehensive support services, to 100 selected small businesses in Houston. The initiative underscores the critical role small businesses play in economic and community development.
Loren Hudson, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer at Comcast, emphasized the importance of small businesses as the economy's backbone and their vital contribution to local communities. The Comcast RISE program aims to equip these businesses with the necessary tools and resources to thrive and expand. From May 1 to May 31, eligible small businesses in Houston have the opportunity to apply for a grant package through www.ComcastRISE.com. The package is comprehensive, offering a $5,000 monetary grant, a 30-second TV commercial production and media placement, a 12-month technology makeover, coaching sessions, and access to online entrepreneurship courses.
Ashley Gomez, co-founder of 132 Design and a past beneficiary of the Comcast RISE program, shared how the initiative significantly impacted her business. The support from Comcast RISE not only facilitated business expansion but also integrated her into a supportive community, unlocking new opportunities. The Comcast RISE program is a key component of Project UP, Comcast's broader effort to promote digital equity. Through various programs and partnerships, Project UP aims to enhance internet connectivity, economic mobility, and opportunities for creators and entrepreneurs across the nation.
