Accelleron Names Ravin Pillay-Ramsamy as Service Division President

Accelleron, a global technology leader in turbocharging and fuel injection, has announced the appointment of Ravin Pillay-Ramsamy as President of its Service Division and a member of the Executive Committee, effective October 1, 2026. Pillay-Ramsamy, who will be based in Baden, Switzerland, succeeds Roland Schwarz, who has been appointed CEO of OMT, an Accelleron company specializing in fuel injection. Klaus Heim, the current CEO of OMT, will retire at the end of September 2026.

Daniel Bischofberger, CEO of Accelleron, expressed enthusiasm for the new appointment, stating, "We are very pleased to welcome Ravin to Accelleron. He brings extensive international leadership experience in industrial services, engineering, business development and M&A, combined with deep expertise in power generation, oil and gas, and industrial infrastructure. His proven track record in leading global service organizations will be highly valuable as we continue to strengthen our service business and create value for our customers worldwide."

Pillay-Ramsamy joins Accelleron from Sulzer, where he currently serves as Division President Services and is a member of the Executive Committee. Previously, he held several senior leadership positions within Sulzer's Services division across EMEA and Asia Pacific. His career began in the United States at Turbine Services Ltd., where he served as Business Development Director and Vice President Engineering. He holds a Global MBA from Columbia Business School and London Business School, a Master's degree in Management and Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University.

This leadership transition comes at a pivotal time for Accelleron, which is focused on accelerating sustainability in the marine and energy industries. The company provides turbocharging, fuel injection, and digital solutions for heavy-duty applications, building on a heritage of over 100 years as a trusted industry partner. With more than 3,200 employees serving customers in over 50 countries, Accelleron is committed to innovation and delivering mission-critical products and services for the energy transition.

The appointment of Pillay-Ramsamy is expected to have significant implications for Accelleron's service business, which is a key growth area. His extensive experience in leading global service organizations and his deep understanding of industrial infrastructure will likely drive enhancements in customer service and operational efficiency. This move also underscores Accelleron's strategic focus on strengthening its aftermarket and services offerings, which are essential for customer retention and long-term value creation.

For the industry, this appointment signals a continued emphasis on leadership with strong international and technical backgrounds to navigate the complexities of the energy transition. As companies in the marine and energy sectors increasingly prioritize sustainability, having leaders who can drive service innovation and global expansion is critical. Pillay-Ramsamy's track record in business development and M&A may also indicate potential strategic partnerships or acquisitions to bolster Accelleron's service capabilities.

Roland Schwarz's move to OMT as CEO is another strategic step, ensuring continuity and expertise in the fuel injection segment, which is vital for the company's product portfolio. Klaus Heim's retirement after a long tenure marks the end of an era, but the seamless succession reflects Accelleron's robust talent management.
