The Exit Planning Institute (EPI) Twin Cities Metro Area Chapter will host its annual Business Owner Forum on October 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Midland Hills Country Club in Roseville, Minnesota. The event, titled "Exit Readiness by Design Preparing for the Inevitable: Aligning Business, Personal & Financial Preparedness," aims to help business owners proactively align their business strengths, personal goals, and financial security.
The forum will feature lessons from advisors and business owners on strengthening value drivers, reducing risk exposure, navigating succession realities, and coordinating advisors around a clear transition strategy. Todd Krough, CEPA®, President of EPI Twin Cities Metro Area, said, "Our forum is designed to encourage conversations between business owners and exit planning advisors on how to align business, personal and financial goals to ensure exit readiness. The agenda was designed so that owners and advisors will better understand how to work together to strengthen enterprise value, mitigate owner risk, and align transition planning with long-term personal and financial goals."
Business owner attendees will gain clarity on how to maximize business value and minimize regret when planning for their eventual business transitions. Exit planning professionals, including financial advisors and business consultants, will gain insight into guiding more effective exit conversations with business owner clients.
This event matters because it addresses a critical gap in business planning: many owners are unprepared for the complex process of exiting their businesses. According to EPI, its Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) credential program is the most widely endorsed professional exit planning program in the world, providing advisors with the content, tools, and training needed to engage business owners and become their most valued advisors. By bringing together owners and advisors, the forum aims to foster collaboration that can lead to more successful transitions, preserving business value and securing owners' financial futures.
For business owners, the implications are significant. A well-planned exit can mean the difference between a comfortable retirement and financial uncertainty. For advisors, the event offers a chance to deepen their expertise and expand their client base. For the broader business services industry, this forum highlights the growing importance of exit planning as a specialized field, underscoring the need for professionals who can guide businesses through transitions.
The forum is part of EPI's ongoing efforts to serve professional business advisors' educational and resource needs. EPI was formed in 2005 and its CEPA® program is recognized globally. Business owners and advisors interested in learning more can visit the EPI website for registration and additional information.
As the business landscape evolves, events like the Business Owner Forum provide essential knowledge and networking opportunities that can help ensure the longevity and success of enterprises across the Twin Cities metro area and beyond.
