Nordex Secures 197 MW Orders from ENOVA and BMR for German Wind Projects

The Nordex Group has secured new orders totaling more than 197 megawatts (MW) from ENOVA and BMR energy solutions for the supply and installation of 30 wind turbines across Germany. The projects, located in Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, and North Rhine-Westphalia, include long-term Premium Service agreements spanning 20 years, highlighting the growing emphasis on repowering and efficiency in the country's wind energy sector.

In Boldecker Land, Lower Saxony, ENOVA is executing a 68 MW repowering project with ten Nordex N163/6.X turbines. Installation is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, with commissioning expected in early 2028. Another ENOVA wind farm in Schleswig-Holstein will feature six N149/5.X turbines, totaling 34.2 MW, with construction starting in early 2028 and commissioning by mid-2028. These projects demonstrate the shift toward larger, more efficient turbines that maximize energy output while minimizing land use.

Two additional projects in North Rhine-Westphalia — Nettetal and Breberen — were originally developed by BMR energy solutions. The Nettetal project, sold by BMR to ENOVA, will comprise five N163/6.X turbines, with construction beginning in October 2027 and commissioning in early 2028. In Breberen, ENOVA and BMR are collaborating on a repowering initiative that replaces existing turbines with nine modern N163/6.X units to boost electricity production and optimize site usage. Installation there also starts in October 2027, with commissioning planned for the second quarter of 2028.

Karsten Bruggemann, Vice President Region Europe of the Nordex Group, emphasized the strengthened partnerships: "We have built a long-standing and trusting relationship with BMR, which we have successfully developed further through numerous projects. We are therefore all the more pleased to now also implement more joint projects with ENOVA again and to further expand our business relationship. The fact that both partners are relying on our technology and service expertise for these projects is a strong sign of confidence for us."

Hendrik Böschen, Chief Operations Officer of ENOVA, added: "These projects mark the next milestone in the development of our wind farm portfolio. Together with Nordex and BMR energy solutions, we are bringing demanding projects into implementation in a cooperative, efficient and fast manner. The fact that we are driving several projects of this scale forward in parallel underscores ENOVA’s operational strength and scalability in the German wind energy market."

These orders underscore the critical role of repowering in Germany's energy transition, where replacing older turbines with more powerful models significantly increases capacity without requiring new sites. With ENOVA aiming to grow its portfolio from 1 GW to 3 GW by 2030 and manage assets worth EUR 5 billion, the partnership with Nordex and BMR positions the companies to capitalize on the nation's renewable energy targets. The long-term service agreements also ensure operational reliability and performance optimization over two decades.
