Chromatic 3D Materials, a pioneer in additive manufacturing technology, has successfully closed a $6 million financing round, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards revolutionizing industrial manufacturing. This latest equity issuance elevates the company's total raised capital to over $15 million, following previous rounds in 2018 and 2021. The infusion of funds is earmarked for enhancing production capabilities, streamlining customer approval processes, and fostering revenue growth, alongside advancing the performance and quality of its proprietary technologies.
CEO Cora Leibig highlighted the strategic importance of this funding, emphasizing Chromatic's commitment to making manufacturing more responsive and sustainable. The participation of both new and existing investors, including Embedded Ventures, reflects strong confidence in Chromatic's potential to redefine additive manufacturing, especially in aerospace applications. Since its last funding round, Chromatic has launched 12 proprietary material grades, catering to diverse sectors such as textiles, automotive, and industrial hydraulics, and has achieved notable milestones including supplying parts for Daimler Truck buses and ÖBB rail vehicles.
Chromatic's strategy revolves around forging partnerships with industry leaders to innovate elastomeric fabrication processes and product designs. Its RX-AM™ printing technology is at the heart of joint development projects across aerospace, defense, and consumer markets, contributing to a robust patent portfolio with 10 issued patents and over 25 pending applications. The introduction of RX-Flow™ 3D printers in 2023 has further solidified Chromatic's position in the market, offering a comprehensive solution for reactive extrusion additive manufacturing.
With a focus on flexible, cost-effective, and sustainable manufacturing, Chromatic's material portfolio, including printable polyurethanes and durable thermoset elastomers, addresses a wide array of industrial needs. The company's global presence, with facilities in the United States and Germany, and a customer base spanning over 50 entities, underscores its growing influence in the additive manufacturing landscape. This latest funding round not only fuels Chromatic's expansion but also signals its pivotal role in shaping the future of manufacturing across multiple sectors.
